What happens if a Swedish fashion retailer – H&M – collaborates with a Swedish cult shoe label – Swedish Hasbeens? Seventies inspired clogs and wood sandals at affordable prices. The new collaboration will be in stores on 20 April with prices starting at £35. I’m a big fan of the Hasbeens but can’t really afford their £100 + price tag so this is one designer-highstreet combo I’m really looking forward to.
I don’t ever wear flip flops, in my opinion they are acceptable beach wear and acceptable on beaches only. So I was rather surprised when I came across these really lovely ice skate-like shoes – aptly called Ice Princess – and realised they are Flip Flops. I take it all back!
A while ago I entered a competition on new online shoe shop sarenza.co.uk to win a trip to Paris. I didn’t win but as a thank you for all of you who voted, I’m now giving away a £60 voucher to spend on shoes at sarenza.co.uk!
They’ve got a sale on at the moment so you should find yourself a great pair. I really love these classic, black Chelsea boots from the Continental Fashion Findings range, very simple and unfussy, but they’ll never go out of style and have that Sixties feel that I love. Naturally they aren’t cheap, I really always do like the most expensive things…
To enter the competition and get to spend £60 on a pair of shoes of your choice, please comment under this post and explain why you deserve to win a pair of Sarenza shoes. The most creative and convincing entry will be picked by me at midday on Monday 9 August.
Good luck!
Sarenza, an online shoe shop, asked me to have a look at their Continental Fashion Findings collection and choose a shoe I like. Well, I sure as hell love tasks that involve a) shoes, b) shopping and c) freebies! Plus I shall be mentioned on the Sarenza blog with a chance to win a trip to Paris…
UPDATE: You can now vote for me on the Sarenza blog
As I have plenty of wedges and heels I decided to look for flats and instantly liked these blue loafers by Eden. The electric blue and faux snake skin leather are a nice twist on such a classic shoe shape and look pretty cool teamed with my favourite Sixties mod dress. They even match my vanity case – perfect!
I’ve been toying with buying these Vivienne Westwood for Melissa blue boots for ages but was never sure if I’d actually wear them. Or what with. However I saw an amazingly dressed girl wearing these in red yesterday and can’t stop thinking about them now.

I am off to New York next week, hopefully, the damn volcano has already forced me to postpone this trip once. While I’m mostly excited about walking around, taking a ferry to Staten, going to the Bronx Zoo and heading down to Coney Island, shopping wise I have no real plans.
Really, other than plenty of vintage stores, there is only one shop I can’t wait to go to – Opening Ceremony
The one thing I want:
There are some trendy bits and pieces out there I love and Swedish Hasbeens clogs and sandals just appeal to my inner nerd. So I invested in a pair of nude coloured peep toes.
A while ago eco shoe company Simple Shoes got in touch and offered me a free pair of shoes. Hell, I wasn’t going to say no to that and chose the fabulous Pinwheel in black, it’ll be perfect for all the swing dancing I am planning to do next year.
I was ever so slightly confused when I opened the parcel and found one Pinwheel and a non-matching shoe. The included instructions explained that I’d have to go on a wild treasure hunt via Twitter to locate my other half, which had been sent to another, unknown blogger. I like games.
As it turned out the fabulous Queen Mary from Kingdom of Style was my shoe swapping partner, and now, after a quick exchange, I have a lovely matching pair.
I rather like the idea of connecting bloggers through a social network game, beats the usual soulless ‘here’s your freebie’. Although it would have been nice to be matched with someone a bit closer to home as London – Glasgow was just a tad too far to meet for a coffee.
