Valentine’s give-away: win some pin-up style lingerie

I’ve teamed up with lovely lingerie label and purveyors of vintage-inspired lingerie Playful Promises to give away one set of their Blush bra and knickers.
The pink satin with black velvet bow design is the perfect mix between naughty and sweet, just right for you vintage vixens out there. To enter the competition simply leave a comment below this post including your email address. The winner will be picked at random at midday, Thursday 10 February 2011.

If you are based in London you might also like to check out Playful Promises’ ‘Late Night Love In’ on 10 February at their East London Boutique. Shoppers will get 20% off all night, bubbly and chocolate plus there will be an appearance from burlesque star Miss Betsy Rose. There will also be a prize draw to win a pair of tickets to THE TASSLE CLUB burlesque night at the Bath House in London.

Also, if you fancy yourself a bit of a pin-up, do enter their photo competition. They are looking for a girl who represents the everyday woman and who will – with the magic of retro photographer Terry Mendoza – be transformed into a new pin-up princess.

The price is a four hour shoot at the Retro Photo Studio, outfits provided by Playful Promises, and the prize winner will go home with a retouched image (worth £130 pounds) and a £100 gift voucher to spend online or in store with Playful Promises. The final image will also be featured online.
Just send an email to: with a photo of yourself and three words that best describe you to enter.

I like apples – so you can get your mitts on DKNY Be Delicious

I’ve been a lucky chosen one to try out the DKNY Be Delicous fragrance, so here’s my verdict. I have to be honest, when it comes to scent I like rather strong, musky perfumes, nothing too light and definitely not too sweet.

Now Be Delicious – which comes in a rather pretty apple-shaped bottle, was both inspired by NYC and well, apples, so I wasn’t quite sure if I’d like its fruitiness.
But I do.

The perfume is light enough to not make it too sweet, as a scent it feels girly rather than sexy or seductive, perfect to wear during the day. I’m not sure how NYC it is, it doesn’t feel quite tough enough, but it sure has that fruity freshness of a nice green apple. Would I wear it? Yes, I am as a matter of fact!

Now I’m sharing the love so if you fancy getting your hands on a DKNY Be Delicious Eau de Toilette and lovely matching make-up bag, all you need to do is answer the following question by commenting on the post:

Which city inspired DKNY Be Delicious?
a) Boston
b) Los Angeles
C) New York

The winner will be chosen at random at midday, 25 October 2010. There is no cash alternative.

Good luck!

Oh and before I forget, head over to the DKNY Facebook for a bottle design competition (judged by Donna Karan herself), the grand prize being a trip to New York.

Update: and the winner is: Sara! Congratualtions – you’ve been sent an email. Please do get in touch with your address so I can send the goodies out to you.

Drum roll please

Thank you everyone who took part in the Sarenza voucher give-away. If I had the choice, it would be free shoes for all.

Unfortunately I had to pick a winner, going by most orginal comment, and I went for Sarah, who sent in this lovely poem:

My feet are tired my shoes have a hole
I can’t go out for my daily stroll.
I’m becoming unfit, I’ve got the blues
All I need is a new pair of shoes.

Sarah please do email me your address to by next Monday, 6 September 2010 so the lovely girls at Sarenza can get the voucher over to you.

Reader give-away: £60 voucher to spend on

A while ago I entered a competition on new online shoe shop to win a trip to Paris. I didn’t win but as a thank you for all of you who voted, I’m now giving away a £60 voucher to spend on shoes at!

They’ve got a sale on at the moment so you should find yourself a great pair. I really love these classic, black Chelsea boots from the Continental Fashion Findings range, very simple and unfussy, but they’ll never go out of style and have that Sixties feel that I love. Naturally they aren’t cheap, I really always do like the most expensive things…

To enter the competition and get to spend £60 on a pair of shoes of your choice, please comment under this post and explain why you deserve to win a pair of Sarenza shoes. The most creative and convincing entry will be picked by me  at midday on Monday 9 August.

Good luck!

And the winner is…

Thanks everyone for taking part in my reader giveaway! I’ve just randomly drawn the winner of the lovely BoBelle keyring and it is…

garlicdog (Louise)

Do get in touch with me at with your address so we can get your prize to you. Congrats!
