The WAGs whose style I love

It’s World Cup time and no doubt every glossy magazine will be going on about the players’ WAGs, whose all too trashy flashy style doesn’t interest me in the slightest. There is a group of WAGs though who’s had a huge influence on me: The Beatles and Rolling Stones wives and girlfriends.

So here are just a few of the women – all intriguing artists and entrepreneurs in their own right – whose style I so admire:

Anita Pallenberg –  first dated Brian Jones and then Keith Richards from 1967 to 1979

Marianne Faithful – dated Mick Jagger from 1966 to 1970

Pattie Boyed – married to George Harrison from 1966 to 1977

Jane Asher – dated Paul McCartney from 1963 to 1968

Chrissie Shrimpton – dated Mick Jagger until 1966

And I could go on and on: Linda McCartney, Bianca Jagger, Marsha Hunt, Nico, Cynthia Lennon…
