What to wear? Carnival in Venice

I’m off to meet my boy in Venice for carnival in March – hugely exciting – and am wondering what to wear. I don’t really want to wear a full-on costume but stuff with a hint of harlequin that I can still wear whenever. I really like this Harlequin dress by tba.

This 60s mini skirt by Atelier Mayer is another favourite but I’ll never ever fit into a size 6.

Or perhaps I should do as Mia Farrow (pictured here with her then husband Frank Sinatra at Truman Capote’s Black & White ball, 1966) and go for monochrome?

  3. Lovely shoes! I’d probably go for something more 60s though – maybe silver? Like these http://www.etsy.com/listing/51833451/sale-1960s-vintage-silver-mary-jane?ref=sr_gallery_36&ga_search_query=60s%2Bsilver%2Bshoes&ga_search_type=vintage&ga_page=3 What do you think?
