Oh Dorothy!

June 4, 2008 · 2 Comments

I went to Dorothy Perkins today, mainly to sneer at the ugly green sun dresses they had in the window display. But to my astonishment I actually came back out with a lovely new heart print blouse and black  Chanel-a-like bag. That will teach me!

A country wedding

June 2, 2008 · 1 Comment

I went to my friend’s wedding last weekend. The bride looked beautiful in a tailor-made wedding dress, the weather held up and I got to catch up with college friends I hadn’t seen in years.

The outfit of the day has got to go to Tamzin, who looked stunning in a vintage blue cocktail dress from Beyond Retro near Brick Lane. How amazing are her pink shoes and matching flower?

Blue was definitely the colour to be in!

A short-sighted view on style

May 29, 2008 · 2 Comments

I’m incredibly short-sighted. As much as I wish I could laser away all problems, I do love my glasses.

The Blues

April 26, 2008 · No Comments

I do apologize for another outfit post…I ended up in Topshop today to spend some of the voucher I got at as a leaving present from my old job. After trying on tons of flower stuff that all looked way too frumpy, I eventually settled on a blue pleat dress and navy themed underwear. Nautical is a huge thing at Topshop right now, as well as Americana, but to be honest, I am really over stars, it’s been done to death.

Spring chicken

April 26, 2008 · No Comments

Today was the first real spring day. The sun was out, and I just basically decided by peering out of the window that I would dress for a warm summer’s day.

As a result I put on my 1950s full skirt by Marcelo Sommer that I had bought in Brazil a few years ago. I wore it with the white H&M top that I’d bought in Zurich and my new Faith platform sandals.

Retail therapy

April 19, 2008 · 2 Comments

I woke up this morning feeling decidedly ugly and not quite myself. Nothing in my wardrobe could lift my spirit so I went for comfort and put on a black H&M dress and my new bow jumper from Topshop.

There is only one thing that can turn an ugly-day around: shopping. A few hours, coffee with my friend Leticia and quality time spend looking around shops in Holloway (yes, Holloway) later and I returned home happily clutching
a) a new pair of great platform sandals from Faith
b) chocolates and sparkling wine from M&S

I readily admit, I feel quite the little woman for indulging in such stereotypical femininity as shopping and chocolates but hey, sometimes it is fun to ravel in clichés.
