So one of my one million obsessions is Sao Paulo. I love this city’s ugliness, its randomness, its rhythm and mix of European, American and Latin that translates into such a unique and off-beat style.
The Facehunter has some great pictures of Sao Paulo fashion week folks.

Just how much do I like the Geek Chic fashion spread in ZoomZoom magazine! It features frocks by American designer Carmen Marc Valvo. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing fashion forward about his timeless ball gowns and 1950s dresses. But rather interestingly, at his last show he sent his models down the catwalk looking awkward and wearing thick glasses, which instantly transformed the vibe of his collection.

The Sartorialist has some amazing pictures taken at a Jazz-Age lawn party on Governors Island in New York.

My inner flapper just wants to rush to FCUK and throw on some of their 20s inspired frocks.

I am hosting a murder mystery party next week. Yeah, any excuse for fancy dress! Although the theme will be 1950s Hollywood (screen sirens, studio starlets and leading men) I am generally quite into anything vaguely detective at the moment, probably because of my ongoing Sretsis obsession.
Not surprisingly then that I totally love Brightest Young Things $40 girl detective fashion spread.

I just love Jean Seberg in A bout de souffle. Her Harald Tribune T-shirt, stripy top and boyish crop are just amazing.

One of the reasons for calling this blog ‘Style High Club’ is my love of everything to do with vintage stewardess or airforce dresses.
These lovely things are all on Ebay.

are these fantastic 1920s dresses which I have found in a book called Vintage Fashion that my friends got me as a leaving present.
I just can’t stop marvelling at the sharp cuts, the collars, the strict geometric shapes taken from modernist art and the monochrome colours.

…but I am actually quite excited about the start of Gossip Girl on ITV2 tonight. There aren’t many series that I watch or have watched but I this time I am intrigued, and it’s all down to the wardrobe of gossip girl Blair. Bows! Headbands! Sweet little dresses! Tartan! Ever since I have seen outtakes of the show, I have been fantasizing about red tights and ribbons. So even if it turns out to be the most rubbish thing on TV, I will be watching with the sound turned off.

When browsing on the web I found this picture of a girl wearing red tights with a black dress. I love it, off to Topshop after work then, MUST buy red tights!
