Wear more green

I went to a panel discussion on ethical fashion, followed by a catwalk show, at the British Libray yesterday. For me, the most interesting point to take away from the discussion is that a turn to ethical/eco fashion is not so much a choice we can make, but one we have to make. In the future (well right now actually), buying a high quality, long lasting, organic cotton T-shirt is not just ‘a good deed’, but a consumer choice in a credit crunch society, where we all have less money to spend on throw away items.
To me, feeling the pinch in my purse, this just simply makes sense. Therefore, my three top tips on a greener wardrobe:
1) Check out People Tree. Founder Safia Minney was one of the panelists yesterday. I love the designer collaborations – clothes and jewellery - for her label and their Topshop collection.

2) It’s London Fashion Week so the perfect time to check out its eco fashion section: Esthetica. The best eco fashion labels will be present, including amazing Danish label Noir, whose BLLACK collection is cool, edgy and eco.

3) Check out greenmystyle.com, a daily eco glossy. I love their daily ebay section. Yes, ebay shopping for vintage clothes is definitely my favourite way of going green!
