Oh la la

June 30, 2008 · 2 Comments

I think I have just discovered the best ever lingerie brand on this planet. No exaggeration. What a way to spice up a Monday morning, eh?

St Tropez Leisure do absolutely amazing underwear, just the right kind of frilly, just sweet enough, just naughty enough, a perfect balance.

They do fantastic swimwear as well:

Style Muse: Chloe Sevigny

June 27, 2008 · 3 Comments

There aren’t many contemporary actresses or ‘clebs’ that I really like , let alone whose style I admire, but Chloe is the exception to the rule.

She is beautiful without being your generic beauty. Her style is eccentric, always cool, always hip but she always remains true to herself.

Chop it all off

I need a new hair cut. The old short Edie crop has grown out and I am desperate to get rid of the thick, heavy mess I tuck in behind my ears.

Mr Sassoon does such great geometric crops. If only I could afford a trip to one of his salons.

How savage!

So art print T-Shirts are big news, with Pepe Jeans doing a Warhol collection and every single high street shop churning out their version of Rothko vests.

I like the idea of combining art prints and fashion but would I really want to run around in a Campbell soup can dress? Would that be the pastiche of a pastiche of a pastiche? Who cares: it’s plain boring and screams ‘I am oh so with it’. No thanks.

I much prefer the original art work that adorns the latest Street Gallery collection of Belle Sauvage. The London based label is run by Argentinian designer Ferreira and film maker Neuman from Luxembourg.

The bold colours combined with graphic prints and illustrations create a decidedly ’street’ collection and yet I find it far more original and exciting than wearing Warhol’s Marylin on a scarf.

Useless things I need

So utterly useless and yet so pretty. I have been slightly obsessed with lobsters ever since I’ve watched Hitchcock’s Strangers on a Train. Lobster tie anyone?

The future is bright

How is it possible that I have not heard of Mary Katrantzou before? The Greek born Central St Martin’s fashion graduate does the most amazing, boldly coloured print dresses that give the illusion of wearing giant futuristic necklaces.

Why Marc, why?

How dare Marc Jacobs come up with this lovely black number that is just the right type of vintage inspired and yet so modern? I would pair it with this fantastic Miu Miu coat and brown brogues.

I’ve always loved The Pixies…

June 20, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Queen Michelle at Kingdom of Style has been blogging about US store Pixie Market, which has recently launched its own online shop. There are plenty of quirky, cool and stylish pieces from a range of designers. Sadly, even with the low dollar, my credit cards are all maxed out…

I wish I could have:

 Adeline Cacheux ring

  Natalie Encarnita top

 Pretty Young Thing barette
