I am off to my friend’s wedding this weekend, which once again made me think about wedding dresses and my horror of all things meringue.
But there is help at hand. Lanvin’s designer Alber Elbaz has designed the most beautiful range of wedding dresses, most of them 1920s inspired. I just love these two:

I’m incredibly short-sighted. As much as I wish I could laser away all problems, I do love my glasses.

I dashed into Uniqlo yesterday to try on the Wang shift but sadly it looked awkward on me and the grey drained my pale skin even more.
When walking past Topshop, I noticed this floral dress by Australian designer Alice McCall. It’s probably the most boring and ‘unfashiony’ item in her capsule collection, but could I ever say no to two black bows?

But I quite like this one. I’m a fan of American designer Alexander Wang’s sharp monochrome tailoring so I was quite looking forward to his line for Uniqlo. There will be five dresses in total all for under £30. I am sure the white/grey shift (second below) will find its way into my wardrobe.

I’ve been sick all bank holiday weekend, way to spoil any fun! Before the cold forced me to spend most of the time in bed, I managed to venture out to the Skin + Bones fashion meets architecture exhibition at Somerset House.

I am not really into the conceptual aspects of haute couture, but I did like Viktor and Rolfs’ 1999 Russian Doll themed collection video. And if anything, the exhibition has reinforced my love for all things Lanvin.
If I had to pick one architectural style that has had any influence on my own sense of fashion, then it would have to be Bauhaus and its simplicity, functionality, clean lines and block colours.
I’m shuffling back off to bed…boohoo….

On the look out for a hat to wear to my friend’s wedding on Sunday, I found this lovely number. It’s simple yet striking.

I was also intrigued by this pheasant fascinator:

I just love this 1950s style hat:

But my absolute favourite is this 1920s inspired head band:

I just love Jean Seberg in A bout de souffle. Her Harald Tribune T-shirt, stripy top and boyish crop are just amazing.

There is a fine line between looking like a fancy dress sailor or suspiciously like a Japanese school girl and doing nautical in a fashionable way.
Behold Emma Cook who does sailor style to perfection:

Ok, so I don’t normally blog about cosmetic products but in this case I shall make an exception.
I bought Niveas’s My Silhouette about three weeks ago and have religiously covered my bum, thighs and waist in this lovely, nice smelling gel on a daily basis.
I am not sure if it has reshaped my body in any way or lifted any flabby bits, however my skin does feel tighter and firmer, plus my legs have never felt so moisturized before! Free samples are avilable here.

I had a power walk down Regent Street during my lunch break. Partly to buy the Kurt Geiger heels (resistance was futile!), party to check out Reiss. They have some lovely skirts and dresses at the moment.
